Anyone interested in volunteering to be a coach, assistant coach, or team manager for the coming Fall season must register through the unique TeamSnap link created by the Club for each season.
All coaches and team managers registered with the Glen Rock Soccer Club, if they haven't completed them already, are required to attend the Rutgers SAFETY clinic and complete a Borough of Glen Rock background check before they can step on the field as a GRSC coach. The Club will reimburse all coaches for the cost of the SAFETY clinic and pays the town directly for the cost of the background check. Additional requirements apply to travel team coaches. Information on each of these requirements is outlined below.

1) Rutgers SAFETY Clinic: The Rutgers SAFETY (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) Clinic is a three-hour program that meets the "Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs" and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under New Jersey's "Little League Law." No one can coach any sport in Glen Rock if they do not attend the SAFETY class and/or supply GRSC with a copy of the certification card. Classes are about $50 and held both online or at various local locations throughout the year. Dates, locations, and registration information on all SAFETY classes can be found here: https://youthsports.rutgers.edu/courses/. Check the SAFETY page often since classes are added frequently.
Once attendance is complete, please obtain and save:
-- a copy of the SAFETY certification card received at the end of the class and email to GRSC's Registrar at grsc.registrar@gmail.com.
-- a receipt for the SAFETY class since GRSC will reimburse registered coaches for the cost. Email a copy of the receipt for reimbursement along with the address to which to send the reimbursement to GRSC's Treasurer at treasurer@glenrocksoccer.org.
If a registered coach already has the SAFETY certification (i.e. from another youth sports organization), they will only need to email a copy to GRSC's Registrar at grsc.registrar@gmail.com.
2) Background Check: This is required by the Borough of Glen Rock before anyone can coach with GRSC. Once submitted, it will not need to be completed again. Please scroll down to download a copy of the form along with instructions on where to email the completed form.
If a registered coach has already completed the background check (i.e. with another sports organization in town), they will only need to email GRSC's Registrar at grsc.registrar@gmail.com to let the Registrar know that the background check has been completed. The coach's name will be cross-checked against the town's master list for confirmation.
Questions? Please contact the Club at glenrocksoccerclub@gmail.com.
Please click below to download a copy of the Borough of Glen Rock's background check form. This form should be completed, scanned, and emailed to Glen Rock's Director of Parks & Recreation, Bryan McDonnell, at bmcdonnell@glenrocknj.net. If there are any questions on the results of the background check, you will be contacted directly by the Borough. If there are no issues, you will not hear back. This form only needs to be submitted once.

All teams will need parent coaches. Coaches must possess a minimum NJ Youth Soccer State Certificate (formerly the NJYS "F" Certificate), complete NJYS SafeSport training, and submit for a background check.
The State Certificate is a 6-9 hour course offered regularly by NJYS.
If you are interested in becoming a parent coach, please contact us as fcglenrock@gmail.com.
